Controls System Engineer

Primary Responsibilities

  • Experience in PLC and industrial control panel system design and programming
  • PREFERRED: Experience with Beckhoff, Siemens, Allen Bradley PLC hardware and software
  • Utilize engineering CAD software including Altium, Solidworks Electrical, and Autodesk
  • Troubleshoot PLCs and PCBs to the component level
  • Create embedded software programming in C/C++
  • Create PLC programs in Ladder Diagram, Structured Text, and Function Block Diagram
  • PLC and ICP assembly as necessary
  • Prepare correct first-time designs for manufacturing, installation and commissioning
  • Interface with the Research and Development team to refine designs and optimize for manufacturing
  • Create and produce detailed schematics, manufacturing drawings, cable schedules, wiring lists, parts lists, test sheets
  • Produce and maintain detailed Bill of Materials and assembly drawings and consult with Assembly Engineers to ensure understanding of project
  • Continually research new products that meet the technical requirements and design needs of current or upcoming projects
  • Build and maintain relationships with external suppliers, advise on end of life and manufacturer trends
  • Interface with compliance to provide all necessary documentation to obtain 3rd party certifications

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 3-years work experience in a relevant electrical engineering position
  • Able to work collaboratively with a cross-functional team in a fast-paced environment on projects with short life cycles
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Able to pass background check
