Controls & PLC Lead

About the role

Marvin is seeking a Controls & PLC Lead to support our premium window and door manufacturing operations. In this role, you will lead the design, programming, and optimization of PLC-based control systems, HMIs, and related automation to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient production. You'll provide hands-on troubleshooting, guide standardization of controls across lines, and mentor technicians. Partnering with engineering, maintenance, and operations, you will drive continuous improvement, reduce downtime, and support new equipment installs in a people-first, collaborative environment with strong long-term career opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, programming, and maintenance of PLC and control systems for manufacturing lines
• Develop, configure, and support HMI/SCADA interfaces for operators and maintenance teams
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex controls, electrical, and automation issues to minimize downtime
• Standardize controls hardware, software, and documentation across equipment and facilities
• Lead automation projects, including new equipment installations and upgrades
• Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and operations to improve safety, throughput, and quality
• Implement and support preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for controls systems
• Ensure compliance with electrical and safety standards and promote safe work practices
• Train, mentor, and provide technical guidance to technicians and operators
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities in controls and automation
