About the role
IMEG is hiring a Controls Intern in Omaha, NE to support engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight of control systems. Over 10-12 weeks, you'll work closely with experienced engineers and consultants while gaining hands-on experience with real project work. You'll contribute to building performance, controls, and commissioning implementation within Strategic Growth Services.

Responsibilities
- Assist with design portions of projects related to discipline systems according to code and IMEG standards
- Assist with producing control documents such as IO list, connection schedule, loop drawings, and schematics
- Assist with client relations, project design notebooks, and documentation for permanent record files
- Assist with coordinating design and schedules with other disciplines such as architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment suppliers
- Assist with documenting design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring project design progress
- Assist with reviewing project documents for accuracy and completeness prior to requesting a final check
- Assist with preparing and issuing addendum information
- Conduct periodic job site observations and other services as required by the contract services agreement
Requirements
- Completed at least 2 years toward a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required
Skills
- Strong interest in design consulting
- Previous exposure to AutoCAD Electrical software
- Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
Preferred: Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry

Recent work includes UNMC Project Health - Controls Delivery (Healthcare / Controls) and Lewis Central High School PCx & Integration (Education / Commissioning & Integration).
