About the role
The Controls Field Engineer is responsible for the successful overall software design of projects, database creation, as well the implementation of the controls design and standards used in the programming and documentation of controls projects. Key responsibilities include fieldwork with controllers and associated components, working knowledge with BAS systems, and partnering with the sales function to set parameters for equipment needs and project timelines.
Responsibilities
- Fieldwork with controllers and associated components
- Highly qualified controls technicians preferred
- Working knowledge with BAS systems, Carrier i-Vu knowledge is a plus
- Create submittals, read and understand project specifications and MEP drawing sets, controls and shop drawings
- Document and track project completion with as-builts and final program notation with all field changes
- Assemble Operation & Maintenance Manuals for completed projects
- Utilize company and as required customer standard programs for designing graphic function blocks for assigned projects
- Test project programs to ensure specified sequences of operation are met and performed accordingly to industry standards
- Inspect HVAC system including point-to-point, determining the proper operating ranges for field devices, as well as complete functional system checkouts
- Conduct graphics engineering functions which include creating equipment and floor plan graphics per project documents
- Submit material orders for project-required materials to the purchasing group
- Assist in the development of functional checkpoints lists for commissioning and additional documentation requirements to commission the system or work with the Commissioning Agent

Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years of experience in Building Automation Systems
- Valid and current Driver’s License and can be insurable by the company’s insurance
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, associate degree, Technical/Business School Certificate or Diploma in HVAC, Controls, or related field
- Proficient with advanced building automation software, such as WebCTRL, and installing building automation controls
- Expert with TCP/IP networks including wireless technology
- Experience interacting with a large and diverse number of simultaneous challenges, requiring knowledge of multiple disciplines
- Able to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience
- Excellent communication skills as well as the ability to work well in a team environment
- Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications
Pay
The annual salary for this position is between $79,000.00 - $158,000.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
