Responsibilities

  • Work under immediate supervision of senior team members, following all defined instructions and pre-established guidelines.
  • Design electrical control panel layouts, bills of materials, and schematics using CAD.
  • Program PLCs for control systems incorporating field devices such as photoeyes, shaft encoders, barcode scanners, solenoids, scales, VFDs, E-stops, and other I/O devices.
  • Assist with the creation and teaching of associated training.
  • Assist with project commissioning and troubleshooting of system installations.
  • Perform control system inspections and verification to ensure installation quality and compliance with documentation.
  • Verify that actual work matches all documentation.
  • Install and provide technical support for PLC-based hardware and software, including supporting Mechanical and Electrical Field installers.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • 0-2 years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of commonly-used controls engineering concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Must pass drug screening and background check.
  • Ability to lift 70 pounds and climb ladders.
  • Ability to understand and work from electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Ability to understand manufacturer data sheets and apply them in practice.
  • Ability to configure PLCs, HMIs, computers, networks, cameras, field instrumentation devices, and variable frequency drives for controlling sorters, conveyors, and related equipment.
  • Proficiency in coding with C/C++, Java, Matlab, Python, or IEC 61131 languages (Ladder Logic, Structured Text, Function Block).
  • Ability to develop electrical documentation packages, descriptions of operations, and interfaces between systems.
  • Effective communication (verbal and written) and relationship skills with engineering groups, customers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • A self-managed individual who is a team player.
  • Ability to travel, work weekends, holidays, and overtime when required (up to 90% of the year).

Position located at Intralox offices in Baltimore, Maryland. This position is not eligible for work authorization or sponsorship.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $68,000 to $187,600. The position is eligible for commissions, discretionary incentives, or production incentives according to the terms of those plans.
