What You Will Do
- Design control system details, instrument configuration, prepare for implementation, implement, test, document, and train.
- Collaborate with project managers and estimators to assess potential projects and submit proposals.
- Read and interpret diagrams and documentation, communicate with customers to understand objectives and preferences.
- Develop overall architecture and communication strategy between control system elements.
- Work with the customer and other stakeholders to define and document control system functionality.
- Create BOMs, IO lists, and requirements for control panels.
- Serve as the technical lead for small projects, including building PLC and HMI templates.
- Develop PLC programs in Ladder, Function Block, and other languages.
- Develop the human machine interface (HMI).
- Develop hardware and software test plans and write simulation logic for testing the PLC and HMI system.
- Develop a training plan and materials to train operations and maintenance personnel.
- Communicate and coordinate with the installation team to ensure technicians execute according to documented processes.
- Test the installed system to observe system functionality and ensure programs function as designed.
- Diagnose and resolve software and hardware interface issues.
- Train customers on the use and operation of client-specific system integration software.
- Interface with manufacturers and vendors of software and application products, especially for problem diagnosis and resolution.
- Address design problems as necessary.
- Respond to service calls to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair programming and system failures.
- Mentor and train less experienced employees.
What You Will Bring
- 4 years Industrial Controls experience in AEC industry or similar field.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, related Bachelor’s discipline, or equivalent Industrial controls experience.
- 4 years of experience in PLC programming.
- Proficiency with Allen Bradley equipment and systems.
- Proficiency in PLC Programming including ladder logic, function block, and structured text.
- Familiarity with networking (Ethernet/IP).
- 6 years of experience in AEC industry or similar field (preferred).
- Proficiency with AutoCAD – Autodesk software (preferred).

Work Environment & Physical Demands
