Controls Engineer I

Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and document controls systems for various types of automated equipment.
- Troubleshoot robot controllers, ladder logic, electrical control devices, mechanical units, transfer devices, and peripheral equipment.
- Perform machine power-up, debug, and programming.
- Ensure equipment is designed and programmed to specifications using standard techniques and approaches.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, an Associate's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with any of the following: PLCs, HMIs, Robotics, Mechatronics, Motion Control, Vision Systems, and/or Programming.
- Experience with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical or SolidWorks).
- Current or prior JR Automation experience, or experience in the automation industry, is strongly preferred.
- Ability to interpret electrical and pneumatic schematic drawings.
- Willingness to travel up to 35%–50% to customer sites and other JR locations.
