Controls Engineer I

About the role

• Design, implement, and document control systems for various types of automated equipment.
• Conduct electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic design, peripheral device programming, machine PLC programming, and coordinate machine debug, power-up, and validation with build and electrical teams.
• Ensure equipment is designed and programmed to customer and/or JR Automation build specifications using standard techniques.
• Travel to customer sites for installation and startup of equipment; up to 25% travel expected yearly.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university in a related engineering field, or equivalent experience (2 years of relevant work experience for each year of academic study).
• At least 3 years of related experience and/or training, with exposure to industry or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with PLCs, HMI, Robot, AutoCAD, Motion Control, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, and/or Vision Systems.
• Current or prior JR Automation experience, or experience in the automation industry, is strongly preferred.
