Job Summary
Responsibilities
- Develops and modifies PLC/HMI code and commissions equipment
- Manages pilot plant and client remote networks and data management systems
- Reviews and assists in the development Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
- Provides direction to Electrical Engineering Designers on control design
- Consults and coordinates with process and projects teams
- Acts as a customer liaison to clarify needs and expectations
- Assists in providing technical and functional guidance to other employees
- Designs electrical schematics and panel layouts using AutoCAD and PLC/HMI programming software
- Researches dimensions and technical information on parts required for equipment
- Collaborates with engineers and CAD drafters to design electrical controls based on customer specifications
- Participates in design improvement discussions with engineering department
- Develops and reviews Bills of Materials (BOMs) per designed project
- Develops and reviews drawings before project release to customer and production
- Affixes to all software licenses up to date with market requirements and prices for specific projects
- Manages budgets and schedules of controls sub-projects in conjunction with project manager
- Complies with all safety and housekeeping regulations
Qualifications
- Must be proficient in MS Office, MS Project, AutoCAD, and PLC/HMI programming software such as Siemens Simatic, AB / Rockwell, NI LabView, and other similar software
- At least 10 years of related work experience with at least 5 years in membrane filtration or similar filtration and separation process controls
- Bachelor’s degree required in engineering, business, or a related field
Travel Requirements
The percentage of travel required for this position is 0 - 25%.
Work Schedule
This position follows a hybrid schedule working in office Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and working remote Wednesday and Friday. Monday-Thursday are 9 hours and Fridays are 4 hours. Typical working conditions include climate-controlled indoor office setting, a manufacturing environment, and outdoors. The jobholder will occasionally be exposed to extreme weather conditions, dirt and dust, dangerous machinery, mechanical and electrical hazards, and other hazardous conditions. This position requires the jobholder to lift and carry up to and including 50 pounds.
