Controls Engineer
About the role
As a Controls Engineer you will apply your knowledge of automated assembly systems and a solid understanding of industrial controls system applications, design, and operation—including power distribution concepts. You will troubleshoot problems with creative solutions, improve processes, and adapt to various situations while maintaining, developing, and enhancing automation controls systems to increase productivity, efficiency, and meet facility and customer needs.
Responsibilities
- Maintain checklists
- Review and input data into PLC log
- Review shift reports
- Participate in and prepare for managerial meetings
- Programming
- Collaborate across facilities and departments
- Utilize team member feedback
- Find solutions to critical issues
- Maintain and improve overall equipment efficiency (OEE)
- Optimize HMI performance
- Evaluate new manufacturing and controls technologies
- Use tools to identify root causes of issues
- Lead continuous improvement projects
- Keep equipment operating and improve uptime through periodic audits
- Identify and implement error-proofing requirements in the production process
- Incident reporting
- Conduct SOT walks
- Follow health and safety processes
- Act with proactive and preventative safety behavior
- Create and maintain documentation and reports
- Stay current on controls technology
- Remain compliant with required training
- Perform all other assigned duties
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, or related field
- 2+ years of industry experience with related equipment
- English proficiency
- Minimum travel required
