About the role
Design, develop, and support plant automation and control systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable manufacturing operations while driving continuous improvement in quality, productivity, and equipment performance.
Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional teams (maintenance, process engineering, operations, etc.) on automation and controls-related projects.
- Program Rockwell PLCs, Fanuc robots, and related equipment to support new launches and process improvements.
- Support operations and maintenance through troubleshooting and assist in assembly line/manufacturing cell recovery.
- Implement quality improvement projects through error proofing, interlocks, and vision system (Cognex and Fanuc IR Vision) integration.
- Lead machine guarding initiatives and safety improvements.
- Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
- Follow company policies, standards, and specifications.
- Be available to work off shifts and weekends when needed to complete projects and support the assembly process.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent engineering degree with a minimum of 7 years of manufacturing experience.
- Strong understanding of machine tending production processes.
- PLC troubleshooting knowledge (Rockwell), Fanuc, and ABB robot programming knowledge.
- Must be a self-starter and possess initiative with the ability to work with limited supervision.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Commitment to continued professional growth and knowledge through ongoing training and education.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and reasoning ability to solve complex machine and process problems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and handle stressful situations.
