Controls Engineer
Responsibilities
- Execute controls engineering projects by identifying tasks, setting priorities, and developing schedules while maintaining personal accountability for meeting commitments.
- Recognize potential problems early in the project and support effective conflict resolution to keep projects on track.
- Work under the guidance and direction of experienced engineers, contributing to project delivery and learning best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement by applying methodologies, capturing lessons learned, and using templates and efficiency tools to streamline project execution.
- Communicate frequently and directly with clients to clarify requirements, provide updates, and maintain strong working relationships.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, codes, and standards as they relate to contracts and project work.
- Prepare clear and detailed technical documentation, including project definitions and requirements, status reports, process control sequences of operation, standard practices and procedures, scope of supply, requests for information, customer correspondence, and code comments.
- Provide engineering design, development, and implementation of control system software, including DCS/PLC and HMI applications.
- Support the lead engineer with hardware engineering tasks such as systems integration, instrumentation callouts, panel layout, and panel construction, as well as overall systems design integrating multiple components.
- Participate in and support factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, user acceptance testing, and user training activities.
- Program control logic, develop graphical interfaces, configure device communications, and set up databases to meet project requirements.
- Read, interpret, and update technical documents, drawings, and specifications related to process control and automation, including PFDs, P&IDs, single-line diagrams, cable and conduit schedules, instrumentation and control data sheets, and I/O lists.
- Collaborate effectively with remote teams using appropriate collaboration tools and maintain good engineering and documentation practices throughout the project.
Requirements
- Minimum of 4+ years of experience in PLC, DCS, and/or SCADA/HMI design, development, and deployment.
- At least 2+ years of experience with Rockwell and Cimplicity platforms preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in PLC programming and automation system programming.
- Hands-on experience with Rockwell automation platforms.
- Experience in systems integration, including integrating hardware and software components into cohesive control systems.
- Experience in commissioning activities, including system check-out and start-up support.
- Experience with SCADA and HMI design and implementation.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80,000.00 - $135,000.00/yr.
