Controls Engineer
Responsibilities
- Handle material handling equipment.
- Program, troubleshoot, and debug robotic material handling cells.
- Set up safety systems, load programs, and ensure operational readiness without creating logic from scratch.
- Utilize control systems effectively for project requirements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in controls engineering.
- Proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting.
- Experience with dual check safety systems.
- 5+ years of experience in install support and working with material handling systems.
- Familiarity with GM standards.
Essential Skills
- 5 years of programming and troubleshooting experience in controls.
- Debug experience with GM (the person) or Siemens (Ford) systems.
- HMI software development experience.
- Experience with GCCS and relevant certifications.
- Ability to support startup, commissioning, and resolve issues.
- Previous experience working onsite and interacting with customers at plant locations.

This position requires 25% travel, primarily to GM and Ford sites for installations that may last 1-2 weeks or longer, depending on project size and complexity.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Flint, MI.
Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
