About the role

This SCADA Engineer role focuses on designing, developing, deploying, and supporting industrial automation solutions for manufacturing and process industry environments. You will work extensively with SCADA systems, Allen-Bradley PLC platforms, SQL databases, and industrial networks to deliver reliable, high-performance automation solutions. The position involves full lifecycle project involvement, from architecture and design through commissioning, startup, and ongoing production support, while collaborating closely with customers and multidisciplinary project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and support SCADA applications for industrial automation projects in manufacturing and process industry environments.
  • Configure, customize, and maintain iFIX and other SCADA platforms to meet project and customer requirements.
  • Integrate SCADA systems with Allen-Bradley PLCs and industrial networks, ensuring robust and secure communication.
  • Develop and maintain SQL databases, including data collection, reporting, and query development to support operational visibility and analytics.
  • Participate in system architecture and design reviews, contributing to technical decisions and project planning activities.
  • Perform factory acceptance testing (FAT) to validate system functionality prior to deployment.
  • Conduct site acceptance testing (SAT) at customer facilities to verify proper installation, integration, and performance.
  • Support equipment startup, commissioning, and integration activities at customer sites, ensuring smooth transition into production.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, communication, and process issues, providing timely resolution to minimize downtime.
  • Provide occasional after-hours support for critical production systems when necessary to maintain continuous operations.
  • Create clear technical documentation, operating procedures, and training materials for internal teams and customer personnel.
  • Collaborate closely with controls engineers, project managers, electricians, and customer stakeholders to deliver successful automation solutions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance system reliability, performance, and maintainability.

Skills

  • 8+ years of industrial automation or controls engineering experience.
  • 5+ years of iFIX SCADA
