Controls Engineer 3rd Shift
About the role
As a Controls Engineer you will have knowledge of automated assembly systems with a solid understanding of the basic theory of industrial controls system applications, design and operation—including concepts of power distribution. You will utilize troubleshooting skills to solve problems using creative solutions, improve processes, and adapt to various situations. The role involves maintaining, developing, and improving automation controls systems to increase productivity and efficiency while meeting both facility and customer needs.
Responsibilities
- Maintain checklists
- Review and input data into PLC log
- Review shift reports
- Participate in and prepare for managerial meetings
- Programming
- Collaborate across facilities and departments
- Utilize team member feedback
- Find solutions to critical issues
- Maintain and improve overall equipment efficiency (OEE)
- Monitor HMI performance
- Evaluate new manufacturing and controls technologies
- Use tools to find the root cause of issues
- Lead continuous improvement projects
- Keep equipment operating and improve uptime through periodic audits
- Identify and implement error-proofing requirements throughout the production process
- Incident reporting
- Conduct SOT walks
- Follow health and safety processes
- Act in a proactive and preventative safety behavior
- Documentation and reports
- Stay up to date on controls technology
- Stay compliant with required training
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, IT, or related fields
- 2+ years of experience in industry and related equipment
- English proficiency
- Minimum travel required
Skills
- Allen Bradley (Studio 5000), Siemens (Step 7), and C++
- C# and ladder logic experience
- Ability to read drawings
- Advanced knowledge of electronic devices
- Expertise in Fanuc Roberts programming
- Knowledge of communication protocols
- Advanced computer troubleshooting experience
