About the Role

The Senior Manager of Project Engineering manages all aspects of projects to ensure safety, security, and asset protection for investors and owners. This role oversees and coordinates all activities of the engineering department, including controls, cost, software, and electrical engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple concurrent engineering projects, delegating authority and responsibility to subordinates as appropriate.
  • Allocate engineering resources to successfully accomplish company objectives and priorities, identifying needs for project completion.
  • Perform administrative and oversight functions, including approving proposals, expenditures, and policy enforcement.
  • Oversee day-to-day interaction and management of the engineering team, including recruiting, hiring, and training.
  • Establish and approve documentation and processes to improve efficiency and reliability of engineering workflow.
  • Ensure projects adhere to timelines and budgets while implementing industry best practices.
  • Provide strategic technical insight to the executive team.
  • Own the technical content generated by the engineering department and provide critical input to solve engineering problems.
  • Approve design documentation, including project design basis, specifications, drawings, and calculations.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of employees to ensure goals or objectives are accomplished.
  • Mentor, coach, train, and develop the team.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) preferred.
  • 6+ years of progressive engineering experience.
  • 3+ years in a direct leadership role.
  • Periodic travel, either locally, nationally, and/or internationally, may be required.
  • High proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook, and Internet applications.
  • Excellent analytical, prioritization, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management, and planning skills with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including analysis, interpretation, and reasoning.
  • Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships internally and externally.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, and talk, hear, and see.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
