About the Role

Pratt & Whitney, a division of RTX (the world’s largest aerospace and defense company), is seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented Engineer II to join the Engine System Software team within the Controls & Diagnostics Systems (CDS) organization. CDS develops complex, cyber-resilient control systems and software for commercial and military engines, including power and thermal management systems, auxiliary power units, and advanced diagnostic & health management systems. The team is at the forefront of system development for hybrid and electric propulsion.

Responsibilities

  • Decompose system-level and customer interface requirements into software requirements and designs within an Agile Framework.
  • Conduct iterative prototype testing and reviews of requirements and designs.
  • Perform software verification within the Agile Framework, including regression analysis, test case development, test script development, and evaluation of results.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, software planning, estimating, and tracking.
  • Potential to serve as Agile Scrum Master and/or part of the Development Team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
  • 2+ years of engineering experience or an advanced degree.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Solid track record of achieving results in a technical role.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, high-pressure engineering environment.
  • Prior experience developing software in an Agile framework.
  • Prior safety-critical software development experience.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards such as DO-178B.
  • Outstanding cross-discipline communication skills.
  • Familiarity with jet engine control and diagnostic system architectures and control logic design.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $68,900 – $131,100 USD. The range is representative of all experience levels and considers factors such as role, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
