Principal Responsibilities
- Assist in the price verification of fixed income securities, as well as over the counter (“OTC”) derivative positions held in the portfolios, including interest rate swaps, credit default swaps, equity and FX options.
- Aid in the development of a valuation and price verification framework for newly traded securities, new funds and alternative products, in collaboration with key federation stakeholders (IT, Operations, Legal, Compliance, etc.) and the Portfolio Management/Trading teams.
- Engage regularly with independent fund administrators to address daily valuation questions for securities (equities, fixed income and OTC derivatives) held in daily mutual funds, providing fair valuation recommendations.
- Create and maintain management reports and key valuation metrics for the Business, Controllers Management and Fund Boards.
- Coordinate an annual vendor due diligence process with independent third party pricing vendors and brokers.
- Review and update the Valuation Policy at least annually.
Basic Qualifications
- An accounting, economics or finance degree is preferred, but not required.
- A CFA, CPA or pursuit of these designations is preferred, but not required.
- Two to five years of experience in the financial markets and investment management industry is preferred.
- A willingness and drive to understand valuation methods for the types of securities mentioned above are essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, are required.
- The ability to work effectively in a team environment is crucial.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills are necessary.
- An ability to take initiative and work efficiently is important.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Desktop Applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and AI tools, including Copilot, is required.
