Controller - Southern Maryland (hybrid remote flexibility)

About The Position

The Controller is responsible for overseeing Cornerstone Montgomery’s day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of the organization’s financial records and reporting. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, with a dotted-line relationship to the Finance Director, the Controller will serve as a key member of the finance team and collaborate closely with leadership and colleagues across the organization.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting skills with sound judgment, curiosity, and a collaborative approach. This person will be comfortable rolling up their sleeves to solve problems while also looking for opportunities to improve processes, systems, and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations
• Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of the organization's financial records and reporting
• Serve as a key member of the finance team
• Collaborate closely with leadership and colleagues across the organization
• Strengthen financial operations
• Support organizational leaders with meaningful financial information
• Ensure responsible stewardship of resources that directly support programs and the people served
• Improve processes, systems, and internal controls

Qualifications

• 4-Year Degree required
• Mid-level experience

Pay

USD $100,000 - $110,000 / year
