About You You are a technically strong, hands-on accounting leader who thrives in complexity. You understand multi-entity consolidations and the rigor required in lending environments. You don't "monitor" the numbers - you own them. You take pride in clean closes, reconciled balances, and financials leadership can rely on without hesitation. You bring discipline, accountability, and a process-driven mindset, while also being collaborative and solutions-oriented. About The Job This is a senior role within the accounting organization. The Controller owns the integrity of the financials across all entities and ensures disciplined execution of the close process, consolidations, and reporting. Mortgage Or Lending Experience Required Financial Close & Reporting Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close across all entitiesDeliver accurate, timely GAAP financial statementsLead balance sheet reviews and ensure all accounts are reconciledMaintain structured close calendar and eliminate surprisesProvide executive-ready financial reporting Multi-Entity & Consolidation Accounting Manage accounting for parent, subsidiaries, SPEs, and securitization vehiclesOversee intercompany transactions and eliminationsPrepare consolidated financial statementsMaintain clean intercompany reconciliations Systems & Process Ownership Own general ledger structure and chart of accountsImprove systems to support loan-level and entity-level reportingReduce manual processes and shorten close timelinesMaintain strong documentation and audit trails Leadership & Culture Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staffEstablish accounting policies, SOPs, and internal controlsFoster accountability and early issue identificationBuild a culture of ownership and operational excellence Audit, Tax & Compliance Liaise with the in-house audit, tax, and securitization accounting expertsSupport tax provision and compliance processesHelp maintain year-round audit readinessCoordinate with external auditors and advisors as needed Skills & Qualifications Mortgage lending experience requiredCPA strongly preferred8-12+ years progressive accounting experience1-3+ years in a Controller role preferredStrong experience with consolidations and eliminationsDeep GAAP knowledgeProven ability to own and deliver a disciplined monthly close Performance Expectations Rain City Capital offers a remote work environment for this position, which means employees may perform their duties remotely and will be expected to check email, phone, and text messages throughout the day and respond in a timely fashion consistent with a normal company workday.
