Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full cycle of accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll for US entities
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly site reporting packages for the group consolidation in accordance with IFRS and NASDAQ requirements
- Lead finance support for US assets acquisitions, with initial focus on the Springer Mine and Processing Facility
- Work with the Corporate Finance team to evaluate and implement new accounting policies as the US assets transition through the mine life cycle (exploration, development, construction, operations)
- Implement, and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records
- Cook up the US component annual audit process in collaboration with the Corporate Finance team and external auditors to ensure timely completion of all audit requirements
- Support the Corporate FP&A Manager in budget preparation, financial forecasting, and variance analysis
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll and corporation tax regulations; prepare and file applicable tax returns
- Oversee cash management, banking relationships, and treasury functions
- Provide financial guidance and support to operational teams to enhance profitability and cost control
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in financial operations
- Help to build and mentor the finance team, fostering professional development and a collaborative work environment
- Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analyses as requested
Qualifications
- Active CPA in good standing and eligible to work in the United States
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- Minimum of 7 years’ progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role
- Strong knowledge of IFRS (US GAAP is an asset), tax regulations, and financial reporting requirements
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced MS Excel skills
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders
- Experience in the metals, manufacturing, or industrial sectors is an asset
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, with willingness to travel to site as required
