Controller - Distribution & E-Commerce

About the role

A hands-on Controller role with genuine runway. You will own the entire accounting function for a fast-moving, multichannel product business — and partner directly with leadership as a true business partner, not just a scorekeeper.

Responsibilities

• All accounting operations — cash across every channel (marketplace/Amazon settlements, credit card, ACH, wire), reconciliations, AR, collections, and credit/terms approval.
• The full month-end close and accurate, timely financial statements.
• E-commerce / DTC accounting — marketplace and payment-processor reconciliation, chargebacks, multi-state sales-tax/nexus, returns reserves, and channel margin.
• Inventory and COGS accounting; daily key-indicator reporting that drives decisions.
• Internal controls and accounting policies within the ERP; the banking relationship.

Requirements

• 7+ years in accounting, including a Controller or senior accounting-leadership role.
• E-commerce / DTC / consumer-products accounting experience — strongly preferred.
• Hands-on ownership of full-cycle month-end close and financial statement preparation.
• Experience with marketplace/payment-processor reconciliation, inventory, and COGS.
• Multi-state sales tax / nexus experience — a plus.
• NetSuite experience — strongly preferred.
• Manufacturing or product-operations accounting — a plus, and something we are glad to develop in the right person.
• Proactive, mature, and confident — comfortable advising and challenging leadership.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and advanced Excel.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• Able to work on-site in Chatsworth, CA.
