About the role

The Controller (Director Level) will report directly to the CFO and will be responsible for scaling Candid Health's financial infrastructure to support the company's fast-paced growth. This role will involve architecting the financial systems to handle the company's 200%+ year-over-year growth, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, and providing actionable insights to the executive team.

Responsibilities

  • Own all day-to-day accounting operations including AP/AR/invoicing, payroll, tax compliance, and R&D tax credit filings.
  • Manage the month-end close process and oversee the work of our 3rd party accounting firm to ensure timely closes, accurate reporting, and high-quality deliverables.
  • Uplevel our ERP system and implement scalable finance systems to automate invoicing, reconciliation, and procurement.
  • Manage and own internal controls and procurement processes.
  • Act as a "truth seeker" for the leadership team, providing granular financial breakdowns and actionable insights beyond standard reporting.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of accounting experience, preferably in managing and maturing financial processes from Series B/C to later stages.
  • Proficient in major accounting processes, including O2C, P2P, H2R, and R2R.
  • A CPA and SOX experience is preferred.
  • Experience implementing financial systems and proficiency in SQL to validate financial data at the source.
  • Proactive in using AI to eliminate "grunt work" in the accounting cycle.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong ability to navigate through challenges, multiple tasks, take ownership, and deliver high quality results.

Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $215,000 - $255,000 USD, with the actual base salary determined by factors such as job-related skills, experience/qualifications, interview performance, market data, and potential upside from equity in our compensation package. Total compensation may also include equity, sales incentives (for sales roles), and employee benefits.

Pay

The estimated starting annual salary range for this position is $215,000 - $255,000 USD.

Schedule

We are an in-person culture. Our ideal weekly schedule is 4 days working from one of our offices (San Francisco, New York, or Denver) and 1 day working remotely.
