Controller (Construction/General Contractor - Northern NJ)

-Perform and oversee all accounting operations including GL, AP, AR, Payroll processing, job costing, and WIP scheduling-Prepare timely and accurate receivable progress billings-Run monthly job cost reports-Cash management and banking on a rolling basis-Manage day to day banking coordination-Own the accuracy of data moving between Sage and Quickbooks platforms-HR administration MUST HAVE:-Strong hands-on accounting and finance background-Construction/project-based accounting experience required-Experience with WIP and job cost accounting-Experience with Sage and Quickbooks highly preferred-Clear communication skills Desired Skills and Experience Mid-sized General Contractor located in Bergen County, NJ, is looking to hire a Controller to oversee all accounting and finance operations for the business. You will report directly into the owner and manage a small team of 1 Project Accountant while also working closely with an outsourced 3rd party firm, responsible for all financial operations, controls, HR administration, and risk management programs. This is NOT an 'oversight' role...but you'll need to be comfortable rolling up your sleeves and actually diving into the weeds! MUST have prior construction/GC experience and be able to be in-office 5x a week in Northern Jersey
