A premier real estate investment and management firm is seeking an experienced, tech-savvy Real Estate Controller to direct all core financial, accounting, and compliance operations for a commercial property portfolio. This position manages day-to-day accounting functions, reporting, treasury management, and team oversight while contributing to financial planning and system efficiencies.

The role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a robust understanding of commercial real estate, retail, and shopping center financial operations, including NNN leases, draw loans, bridge loans, and cash flow management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all financial operations related to the commercial real estate portfolio, including retail and shopping centers.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Manage NNN leases, draw loans, and bridge loans.
• Oversee cash flow management and ensure the financial health of the portfolio.
• Prepare and review tax documentation to guarantee compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and implement strategic financial plans.
• Use MRI software to analyze financial data and make informed decisions.
• Monitor financial performance by measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions, and minimizing the impact of variances.
• Coordinate with external auditors and manage internal controls.
• Lead and mentor a team of financial professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Advanced degree or CPA certification is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial leadership role within the commercial real estate industry.
• Proficient knowledge of NNN leases, draw loans, bridge loans, and cash flow management.
• Extensive experience with MRI software (or similar real estate accounting systems like Yardi).
• Solid understanding of tax documentation and compliance in the commercial real estate sector.
• Proven leadership skills with a track record of developing and leading high-performing teams.
• Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong knowledge of financial regulations and legislation.

Pay
