Controller- Automobile Dealership

We are partnering with an established automotive dealership seeking an experienced, hands-on Controller to lead accounting operations and oversee the dealership's financial performance. This opportunity is ideal for someone who understands the fast-paced automotive dealership environment, knows how to keep deals moving, and recognizes that cash flow and timely deal funding are critical to the success of the business.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations and dealership financial reporting.
• Manage and monitor deal funding, ensuring timely processing, follow-up, and resolution of outstanding contracts.
• Oversee cash flow management, including cash forecasting, monitoring, and maintaining strong financial controls.
• Monitor contracts in transit (CIT), receivables, and outstanding funding.
• Manage month-end close, general ledger, reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Oversee floorplan accounting, inventory reconciliations, and related financial activity.
• Partner with dealership leadership to improve processes, profitability, and operational efficiency.
• Lead and support accounting staff while ensuring accuracy and accountability.

Requirements

• Automotive dealership accounting experience REQUIRED.
• Previous Controller or senior-level dealership accounting management experience strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of deal funding, contracts in transit, and cash flow management is essential.
• Solid understanding of dealership financial statements, floorplan accounting, and reconciliations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize deadlines, and resolve funding issues.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Accounting degree is a plus, but not required. Relevant dealership experience and demonstrated ability to manage financial operations are what matter most.
