About the role

A growing consumer products distributor seeks a Controller to join their team in Chatham, New Jersey. The ideal candidate will have experience in consumer products and distribution.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank recs, and cash flow
• Perform cost accounting, inventory management, and manufacturing variances
• Manage staff and perform various accounting functions including general ledger, financial statements, and account analysis
• Prepare schedules, financial statement highlights, and ensure accurate recording of account activity, corrections, adjustments, and journal entries
• Review and prepare month/year-end reports, accrual schedules, and ad-hoc reports and analyses
• Assist with external and internal audits, working with an outside CPA firm
• Prepare bank reconciliations and cash posting reports
• Maintain accounting files, inventory, and costing using strong ERP systems such as Oracle/SAP and QuickBooks

Requirements

Must have experience in consumer products and distribution. Strong background in GL month-end close, financial statements preparation, AP, AR, bank recs, cash flow, cost accounting, inventory management, and manufacturing variances. Experience managing staff and performing various accounting functions is required. Knowledge of ERP systems such as Oracle/SAP and QuickBooks is essential.
