Controller
About the role
The accounting function at Teamworks is scaling fast, navigating M&A activity, and building toward significant financial milestones. The Controller will own the monthly close process, manage multi-entity consolidations, and drive cross-functional partnership with FP&A, RevOps, Legal, and functional leadership.
Responsibilities
- Own the monthly close process end-to-end — identify opportunities to make it faster and more accurate, then execute on them
- Lead all accounting workstreams through M&A activity, including purchase accounting (ASC 805), opening balance sheets, and financial integration
- Manage multi-entity consolidations, multi-currency accounting, and international statutory compliance across a growing footprint
- Build and strengthen internal controls, systems, and processes that scale with the company's growth
- Drive cross-functional partnership with FP&A, RevOps, Legal, and functional leadership — translating complex accounting topics into clear financial insights that inform real decisions
- Develop and grow the accounting team, building toward the scale and structure the business needs
Requirements
- Active CPA license
- 6–10 years of progressive accounting experience, including meaningful time in public accounting — Big 4 or large regional firm
- Strong technical accounting knowledge across ASC 606, ASC 718, ASC 350, multi-entity consolidations, and international accounting
- Hands-on M&A experience, specifically purchase accounting (ASC 805)
- Experience building or materially improving internal controls in a scaling company
- Experience leading an external audit process — you've owned the relationship with auditors and managed the process end-to-end
- People management experience — you've led or mentored an accounting team
- ERP proficiency, Intacct experience strongly preferred
Even Better
- If you've been through a financing event — Series D+, a debt raise, or IPO readiness — and know what it takes to get a company prepared
- You’ve worked directly with lenders or investors on reporting requirements and covenant compliance
- You have experience integrating financial systems and collaborating closely with FP&A on planning and reporting
- You’ve managed international statutory compliance across multiple jurisdictions
