About the role

This is a rare seat with no CFO layer — you'd own job costing, WIP, close, and compliance, reporting straight to the VP with a real seat at the table with ownership. You'd be stepping in alongside a long-tenured Controller staying on through the transition to help it stick.

Responsibilities

• Owns job costing, WIP, close, and compliance
• Reporting straight to the VP
• Helping the transition with ownership
• Managing and developing an accounting team
• Operating as the senior-most finance voice with no CFO buffer
• Reporting directly to executive leadership/ownership
• Using Viewpoint Vista or comparable construction ERP
• Handling heavy civil / public works (Caltrans-style) accounting

Requirements

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience in construction
• Demonstrated people leadership — managing and developing an accounting team, not just reviewing their work
• Strong Pluses:
• CPA license
• Experience with Viewpoint Vista or comparable construction ERP
• Handling heavy civil / public works (Caltrans-style) accounting
