About the role
The Controller will own financial operations as RouteGenie scales. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can create the financial structure, close the books, build the right controls, and translate financial data into actionable insights for the CEO.
Responsibilities
- Month-end and year-end close – own the full process, top to bottom
- General ledger oversight and integrity
- Financial reporting for internal leadership and any external stakeholders
- Budget vs. actuals analysis with meaningful commentary
- Internal controls design and compliance
- Audit preparation and external auditor coordination
- Tax coordination with outside advisors
- AR/AP team leadership (team of 2 + external bookkeeping firm)
- Deferred revenue and revenue recognition
- Investor relations with external capital providers for finance and tax related items
Requirements
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2-3 years in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role. CPA preferred, or strong desire to achieve soon.
- Experience at a growth-stage SaaS or technology company, required
- Solid understanding of deferred revenue and revenue recognition (ASC 606), required
- Proficient in modern accounting systems and experiencing leading an accounting system migration, a plus. (ex. QBO, Ramp, Salesforce, Stripe, Sage, NetSuite)
- Proven experience managing close processes and building controls infrastructure
- Comfortable managing a small team and external partners
- Strong judgment – knows when to escalate and when to just get it done
- Excel fluency; comfort with financial modeling and variance analysis
- Experience in healthcare technology or transportation/logistics software is a plus.

Pay
$130,000 - $150,000 annually, based on experience
