About the role

Our client is looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team in Morrisville, Vermont. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records while identifying and resolving discrepancies. Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.
• Reconcile and manage the general ledger to ensure all accounts are balanced and up to date.
• Oversee accounts payable processes, including verifying, coding, and processing invoices.
• Manage payroll operations independently, ensuring timely and accurate disbursements.
• Analyze financial statements to identify trends, discrepancies, or potential red flags.
• Collaborate with the Controller to address and resolve financial issues as needed.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
• Aid in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Support the implementation of improvements to accounting processes and systems to enhance efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
• CPA certification preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.

Skills

• Financial statement analysis.
