About the role
Our client, a well-respected healthcare organization, is seeking an experienced and hands-on Controller to lead the accounting and financial operations of the hospital. This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, revenue cycle oversight, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and month-end/year-end close processes.
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and healthcare industry standards.
- Lead the organization's annual budgeting process, including full-cycle budget development, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial planning.
- Partner with department leaders and executive management to monitor financial performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Provide oversight of revenue cycle operations, including billing, collections, reimbursement, cash management, and revenue integrity initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and healthcare regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate and manage annual audits, cost reports, tax filings, and other external reporting requirements.
- Develop, maintain, and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures.
- Analyze financial results and present actionable recommendations to senior leadership.
- Mentor, develop, and lead the accounting and finance team while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
