Controller

Responsibilities

• Preparation of quarterly reforecast incorporating historical results and future assumptions.
• Auditing invoices against purchase orders, researching discrepancies, and approving for payment.
• Evaluating accounting and internal control systems.
• Preparing budgets, reviewing budget proposals, and preparing necessary supporting documentation and justification.
• Providing counsel and advice to peer management in an effort to optimize operational results.
• Cooking activities of external auditors.
• Preparing reports required by regulatory agencies.
• Hiring, training, and retaining competent accounting staff.

Requirements

• Three (3) years of experience as a Controller, or Five (5) years of experience in a public accounting firm (Big 4 or Middle Market).
• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Five (5) years of experience interpreting financial reports, and legal documents.
• A minimum of three (3) years of experience presenting information to various levels of management (ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or executive teams).
• Eight years of experience applying concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of experience working with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.

Skills

• Experience as an audit manager / senior associate at a CPA firm (Big 4 or Middle Market) preferred.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment or with manufacturing clients preferred.
• Experience with inventory management (year end physical counts or recurring cycle counts) preferred.
• CPA preferred.
