Responsibilities

  • Lead all day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and cash management.
  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures.
  • Oversee account reconciliations and ensure the integrity of the general ledger.
  • Cook up annual audits and serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors.
  • Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process in partnership with finance and executive leadership.
  • Monitor cash flow and assist with treasury-related activities.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax requirements, and regulatory reporting.
  • Develop, mentor, and manage members of the accounting team while fostering a collaborative and accountable environment.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency, and leverage financial systems.
  • Partner with department leaders to provide financial guidance and operational support.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA designation preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in a Controller or Assistant Controller capacity.
  • Healthcare, healthcare services, physician practice, or related industry experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience leading the month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Prior experience managing and developing accounting staff.
  • Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and present financial information to leadership.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
