Competitive Compensation: Up to [Top End of Salary] base salary (DOE) + Bonuses401(k) with MatchComprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life InsurancePTO & Paid HolidaysDirect Line to Leadership: Work side by side with ownership and senior leadership, with real influence on how the business growsRoom to Build: Shape the accounting function, improve processes and develop a team as the company scalesHybrid schedule based in Chicago Job Details Key Responsibilities and Duties Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, AP, AR, cash management and reconciliationsLead the monthly and year end close, producing accurate financial statements and management reportsManage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow projections and financial analysisPartner with senior leadership to deliver reporting and analysis that drives business decisionsTrack revenue, expenses, margins, inventory and overall financial performanceOversee accounting for product sales, distribution, transportation and supplier relationshipsMaintain strong internal controls and protect the integrity of financial dataCoordinate with outside CPA firms, tax advisors, auditors and banksSupport annual tax preparation, audits and compliance requirementsSpot and implement improvements to accounting processes, reporting and controlsBuild and maintain financial models and reporting tools for leadershipWork across operations, sales and logistics to explain financial results and trendsManage and develop accounting staff as the organization grows Qualifications Needed Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field. CPA preferred, not requiredMinimum 7 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally with prior Controller or Accounting Manager experienceStrong command of GAAP and financial reportingProven ability to own the month end close and prepare financial statementsExperience with budgeting, forecasting and cash flow managementBackground in a small to mid sized, privately held company where the Controller rolls up their sleevesExperience with inventory, distribution or product based accounting is a strong plusComfortable communicating directly with ownership and senior leadership Interested in hearing more?
