Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Accounting team, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee all accounting operations and financial reporting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, revenue, tax compliance, and equity.
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings in compliance with GAAP.
- Establish, maintain, and continuously improve internal controls, accounting policies, and standard operating procedures to support a strong control environment and scalable growth.
- Manage the annual financial statement audit, tax compliance, and relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other service providers.
- Partner with the VP, Finance to prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses that inform strategic decision-making.
- Identify and implement process improvements and systems enhancements to increase efficiency and scalability.
- Support strategic initiatives, new product launches, system implementations, and other significant business transactions, as needed.
- Provide financial leadership and insights to cross-functional teams, translating complex data into actionable recommendations.
- Mentor and develop team members, supporting their professional growth and effectiveness.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA Required; MBA or CMA a plus).
- Experience in a controller role at a multi-entity start-up or high-growth organization.
- 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role.
- Strong background in GAAP, audits, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting systems and ERP platforms (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar).
- Strong Excel and financial modeling skills.
- Ability to design and implement financial controls and process improvements.
- Knowledge of compliance requirements, tax regulations, and audit best practices.
