Responsibilities
- Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes and financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain internal control policies and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Cook up the annual budget, financial forecasts, and report variances, providing strategic analysis and insights to drive business decisions.
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Analyze company's financial results with respect to profits, trends, costs, and compliance with budgets.
- Issue regular status and ad hoc reports to senior management.
- Lead the cash management strategy, ensuring optimal cash flow to support company operations and investments.
- Cook up the coordination of external audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements.
- Advise on long-term business and financial planning, including new funding and investment opportunities.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior executives to identify their needs and seek a full range of business solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- A Master’s degree or professional accounting designation (CPA, CMA, etc.) strongly preferred.
- A minimum of seven years of experience as a Financial Controller, Accounting Manager, or similar role, ideally within the manufacturing industry.
- Extensive experience in preparing financial statements, conducting financial analysis, and managing budgets.
- Deep understanding of GAAP and other financial regulations, with experience in managing compliance with tax and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Strong experience with accounting software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present financial data using detailed reports and charts.
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently with a broad perspective, keen attention to detail, and a proactive approach to resolving issues.
