Controller

About the role

The Controller reports to the CFO and is an integral member of the corporate leadership team. The Controller will plan and direct the accounting operations of the company. The Controller will establish and maintain the company’s overall accounting systems, procedures, and policies in support of the company’s strategic objectives and processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the operations of the Accounting Department, which include general ledger, billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll
• Oversees accounting-related training programs and identifies training needs
• Devise and oversee implementation of accounting policy
• Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk
• Identify financial risks and propose mitigation strategies
• Implements and maintains all aspects of the Company’s enterprise resource planning system and facilitates training for employees as appropriate.
• Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
• Supervise the monthly close process, monthly billings to customers, collection of accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, expense reporting and payroll
• Present financial reports and control matters to executive leadership
• Recommends benchmarks that will be used to measure the company’s performance
• Produces the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management
• Leads pricing strategy and cost/price proposal development for new business pursuits and contract modifications, in coordination with Business Development and Contracts, along with financial analysis emphasizing capital investments and contract negotiations
