Position Summary
The purpose of the Operations Controller is to direct financial activities, such as, planning, procurement, and investments for all or part of an organization and maintain, and analyze finance statements, controls, budgets, and tax compliance issues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manages company financial matters, develops long-term strategies, and provides financial reports
- Develops a system for accounting controls and procedures
- Develops tools to measure and track department performance, manufacturing performance and Integration project performance
- Sets and monitors company budgets, manufacturing, and integration projects. Assures that sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational and capital investment requirements
- Advises management about insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities
- Oversees the design of the Finance Department's organizational structure sufficient for achieving the department's goals and objectives
- Arranges for audits of plant's accounts
- Determines depreciation rates to apply to capitalized items
- Oversees the flow of cash and financial instruments
- Arranges for equity and debt financing
- Delivers accurate budgets and forecasts
- Submits monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns and reports
- Makes performance against budgets
- Conducts cost analysis
- Creates and measures KPIs
- Maintains and reviews accounting controls and procedures
Qualifications/Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience required; experience within a manufacturing environment preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or similar field required; advanced degree and/or certification in relevant field preferred
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Proficiency in MS Office required
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Job Boss, Lucid charts, and Encore strongly preferred
- Strong communication skills are a must
