Controller
About the role
As a Controller Consultant at Bridgepoint, you will serve as a strategic business partner to support our clients in a wide range of interim and project-based accounting needs. You will work closely with a variety of stakeholders, including CFOs, CEOs, executive teams, bankers, private equity firms, legal advisors, tax advisors, and investors to help companies execute growth strategies, take on new initiatives, and implement processes and improvements.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with clients by providing critical senior financial management and accounting services while delivering the highest level of professionalism and client service
- Partner with a variety of individuals to achieve client success, including CFOs, CEOs, executive teams, bankers, private equity firms, legal advisors, tax advisors, and investors
- Help companies execute growth strategies, take on new initiatives, and implement processes and improvements
- Lead and manage operations of an accounting department
- Develop and optimize the accounting and finance functions to support growth and scalability
- Develop effective interdepartmental relationships (IT, HR, Operations oversight is a plus)
- Maintain and/or implement effective internal controls
Requirements
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with a minimum of 3 years as a Controller
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Willingness to travel throughout your local market, while occasionally supporting national markets
- Strong desire for consulting-style work and delivering excellent customer service
- Proficient understanding of budgeting and forecasting with complex, dynamic financial models
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or MBA
- Prior employment by a Big Four or other nationally recognized accounting firm
- Industry experience in emerging growth, technology, and SaaS companies
