Controller
About the role
This position is onsite at our New Rochelle office. The Controller oversees all accounting operations, including regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, billing, receivables, payroll and payables, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures. This role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial information and acts as a key financial partner to senior leadership.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Oversight of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
- Preparation and review of financial statements
- Maintenance of the general ledger and chart of accounts in accordance with GAAP
- Management of accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and payroll accounting
- Ensuring proper revenue recognition and expense classification
- Design, implementation, and maintenance of internal accounting controls
- Monitoring cash flow, working capital, and short-term liquidity
- Leading annual budgeting and forecasting processes
- Preparation of variance analysis and financial insights for leadership
- Coordination with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners
- Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax and regulatory requirements
- Overseeing accounting systems and driving process improvements and automation
- Managing, developing, and mentoring accounting staff
- Supporting strategic initiatives, financing activities, and special projects
Job Requirements/Skills And Experience
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
- 8+ years of relevant accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls
- Experience in a privately held or mid-sized company environment
- Proficiency with accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, ERP platforms)
- Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $175,000 - $200,000. The base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors such as geographic location, experience, education, and skill level.
