About the role

The Controller will lead the financial operations of a fast-growing commodity trading and finance company based in New York City. The company provides asset-based financing and targets a 10X expansion, working with various sizes of commodity-owning companies.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the accuracy of financial records
• Manage collateral reporting and regulatory compliance
• Support deal execution
• Exposure to secured lending deals
• Manage commodity risk
• Align capital with physical asset-backed transactions across industrial projects, inventory, equipment, and receivables
• Drive financial strategy, risk mitigation, capital management, and profitability in a dynamic and volatile trading environment

Requirements

• Experience in financial control
• Experience in audit readiness
• Experience in operational accounting within a commodities-related environment
