About the role

The position of Controller of the Vastgoed CV at Brightlands Chemelot Campus is within the Finance & Control department. The Vastgoed CV develops, realizes, operates and finances the real estate and related services on the campus. The Controller reports to the Manager of Business Operations. The role involves:

  • Preparing and monitoring the annual budget
  • Preparation, analysis, and discussion of monthly reports for management and board
  • Preparation and explanation of quarterly figures for shareholders
  • Preparation of the annual accounts and annual reports
  • Developing business cases with colleagues for customer offers and/or investments (renovation and new construction)
  • Continuously improving and optimizing administrative organization and risk management
  • Initiating and executing improvement projects that have an impact on results
  • Preparation of reports for banks (project progress, liquidity forecast, etc.)
  • Preparation and explanation of rent payments from tenants, such as service costs and utilities
  • Collaborating with management, directors, and CFO.

Responsibilities

As Controller of the Vastgoed CV, you are responsible for accurate and timely financial reporting, but also for business control aspects such as investment decisions, financing, and margin on services. You ensure that the organization can steer towards performance. Your tasks are broad and diverse, including:

  • Preparing and monitoring the annual budget
  • Preparing, analyzing, and discussing monthly reports for management and board
  • Preparing and explaining quarterly figures for shareholders
  • Preparing the annual accounts and annual reports
  • Developing business cases with colleagues for customer offers and/or investments (renovation and new construction)
  • Continuously improving and optimizing administrative organization and risk management
  • Initiating and executing improvement projects that have an impact on results
  • Preparing reports for banks (project progress, liquidity forecast, etc.)
  • Preparing and explaining rent payments from tenants, such as service costs and utilities
  • Collaborating with management, directors, and CFO.

Requirements

  • A completed university degree, preferably supplemented with an RC course
  • Minimum 6-10 years of experience in various companies (experience or affinity with real estate is a plus)
  • A strong analytical ability to make good estimates of risks and opportunities based on analyses, which you can convey to internal and external stakeholders and turn into concrete actions
  • An experienced team player who can collaborate both within their own field (other controllers and financial administration) and in multidisciplinary teams (for example, for construction projects or customer offers)
  • Capable of working independently and proactively taking initiatives
  • Results-oriented
  • A good command of the English language in both speech and writing

Qualifications

  • Completed university degree, preferably supplemented with an RC course
