About the role

The Control Technician II - Assembly Operations position supports appliance manufacturing operations to ensure the highest quality parts and products are produced with minimal scrap. This role involves troubleshooting, setup, and operation of various machines and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Process, setup, and troubleshoot assigned machines and equipment.
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance.
  • Complete changeovers as needed, including die changes and fixture conversions.
  • Work with operations leadership to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Collaborate with quality, engineering, maintenance teams for trials, operations, and material disposition.
  • Proactively troubleshoot and analyze assigned equipment and processes.
  • Implement improvements based on analysis and documentation.
  • Use technology such as PLCs, smart boards, and monitors to oversee equipment performance.
  • Maintain a clean work environment and adhere to safety and material handling policies.
  • Operate and maneuver parts, materials, and dies using a forklift.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; associate's degree in a technical field preferred.
  • One or more years of experience in machine setup, heavy machinery, or machining operations, preferably in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of PLC systems and capability to make minor adjustments.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work with tight tolerances and around moving machines.
  • Mechanical aptitude and understanding of basic mechanical concepts and relationships.
  • Available to work weekends or extended hours as needed.
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot machinery, tools, and equipment.
  • Capable of obtaining and maintaining Fork Truck certifications/licenses.
  • Exposure to equipment at elevated temperatures.
  • Wear required PPE including steel-toed shoes and hearing protection.

Qualifications

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
  • Pass a background check and drug screen.
  • Successfully complete an annual medical evaluation for respirator use.
