About the Role
The Control Technician maintains, troubleshoots, repairs, and modifies building control systems and material handling equipment in distribution centers.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance on controls, PLCs, control cabinets, and field devices, including troubleshooting AC/DC circuits, sensors, encoders, and bar code readers.
- Follow safety procedures such as lockout-tag out and confined space protocols.
- Monitor and program PLC and PMS systems, document work activities, and manage parts and inventory.
- Read technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints; utilize diagnostic electrical equipment.
- Conduct material handling equipment repairs and support office setups as needed.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of industrial maintenance experience with PLCs, controls, and operating systems.
- Strong electrical knowledge of high and low voltage, AC/DC.
- Proficient in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, reading schematics, and programming PLCs (e.g., Allen/Bradley, Siemens).
- Experience with automatic identification systems and PC hardware/software.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; valid driver’s license preferred.
