Control Systems / Modeling Engineer

About the role

Seeking an engineer skilled in modeling dynamic systems such as hybrid battery-electric powertrains, AC/DC motors, power electronics, and electrical circuits; deploying plant behavioral models through real-time code generation; validating model accuracy with field data; and participating in simulator design and development for locomotive testing.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update models of electrical machines and components.
• Manage configuration control systems and support troubleshooting in real-time hardware-in-the-loop environments.
• Collaborate with subsystem teams to identify modeling requirements using behavioral and physics-based approaches.
• Generate real-time C/C++ code with auto code generation tools like RTW/System Build.
• Conduct project analysis and evaluation adhering to engineering standards, practices, and requirements.
• Provide customer support and assist in system validation efforts.

Requirements

• Educational background in Electrical & Electronics, Computer Science, Power Electronics, or Mechatronics.

Skills

• Experience in power electronics.
• Modeling dynamic systems.
• Control software development in MATLAB.
• System troubleshooting in hardware-in-the-loop labs.
• Generating real-time code with auto code tools.
