Control Systems Engineering Specialist

About the role

Audubon is seeking a Control Systems Engineering Specialist to join our team in our Houston, TX Office, supporting a manufacturing site in their Central Support (Productions and/or Projects) and providing technical assurance and quality control for instrumentation assets, applications, and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the effort in a given project or special portion of a project, with special technical expertise and project management ability
• Manage budgets, scope, schedule, change management, and purchase orders
• Mentor junior automation specialists within discipline
• Provide overall technical delivery of a project that will meet or exceed client’s specifications
• Provide input to employee evaluations for employees working under their direction of a project
• Provide technology consulting with business development meetings and proposals
• Review and/or approve vendor drawings for compliance with project specifications
• Interact and communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, vendors and other consultants
• Comply with all company and client health, safety, security and environmental (HSSE) standards as well as federal and local HSSE regulations
• Manage client relationships and develop repeat business opportunities
• Compile discipline-specific man-hour estimates and Total Installed Cost estimates based on client provided project scope
• Manage and forecast man-hour requirements and schedules associated with discipline-specific project scope
• Lead large projects and manage day-to-day workflow within a group or project
• Delegate assignments, distribute workload, establish work deadlines, and issue reports to immediate supervisor regarding completion of work
• Provide advice and assistance on work techniques, best practices, and subject matter expertise to co-workers

Requirements and Skills

• 5+ years of experience in an automation related role
• 3-5 years’ experience with various DCS Systems (i.e. Honeywell, Emerson, Yokogawa, etc.)
• Experience working on project support for industrial facilities
• Experience with various PLC systems (i.e. Allen-Bradley PLCs, GE PLCs, Siemens, etc.)
• Bachelor's Degree (engineering, computer science, etc.) preferred
• Large project/team lead experience preferred
