About the role

The Control Room Operator Intermediate plays a vital role in monitoring the gas compressor and fleet operations, and in ensuring their smooth functioning. Responsible for continuously monitoring performance indicators, operating parameters, and the overall status of gas compressors at various locations.

Responsibilities

The primary focus will be to promptly identify anomalies and potential issues and report them to field personnel for resolution. Key responsibilities include:

  • Operates and monitors complex control systems independently
  • Responds to critical alarms
  • Diagnoses operational issues
  • Implements corrective actions

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation principles
  • Proven experience in a control room operator role or natural gas compressor field experience
  • Familiarity with gas compression systems and equipment is desirable
  • Ability to interpret basic data and detect anomalies
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and field personnel
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to prevent operational disruptions

Qualifications

The minimum requirements for this role are:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • 2-5 years of experience in a control room operator role or natural gas compressor field experience

Leadership

The successful candidate will be expected to provide guidance and mentorship to less-experienced operators to foster their development and improve the team's capabilities. They will work with little direct supervision and make independent decisions during routine operations, and coordinate with field personnel.

Continuous Improvement and Innovations

The candidate will be expected to propose and implement process improvements based on data analysis and insights.

Physical Demands

The role requires:

  • Regularly standing, walking, and bending with good balance
  • Using hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reaching with hands and arms
  • Sitting, performing repetitive duties, using a PC, and talking and hearing
  • Vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Lifting, moving, and carrying up to 10 pounds
