About the role

The Academic Operations Specialist/Contracts Specialist for Field Experience will collaborate with colleagues in Walden University's Office of Applied Learning Agreements and legal staff to manage the needs of its growing field experience programs. This position primarily supports the Field Experience team for Education and Nursing programs.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate affiliation agreements between Walden and field sites required for student field experience placement.
  • Directly negotiate various contract terms with existing and potential affiliates.
  • Manage and track all contracts, amendments, and contract issues relating to student field experiences.
  • Review field experience contracts, affiliation agreements, and associated documents for consistency with University requirements.
  • Prepare and review correspondence and communications related to field experience contracts and affiliation agreements.
  • Assist with the annual revision of University contracts, forms, and documents.
  • Research state and federal laws and regulations related to student field experiences.
  • Work with University legal staff and field site representatives to address questions or incorporate changes in contracts and agreements.
  • Understand University insurance and indemnity requirements.
  • Research existing contracts to address questions or issues.
  • Assist in developing processes and systems related to contract review and management.
  • Perform administrative duties including data tracking and reporting.
  • Complete additional projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of corporate contract administration/negotiation experience, preferably in a higher education setting.
  • BA/BS or relevant work experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of education and healthcare affiliation agreements is a plus.
  • Self-starter with thoroughness and attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • High sensitivity to the confidential nature of the work.
  • Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.

Skills

  • High computer literacy, including strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook and PowerPoint is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively in a professional team environment.

Pay

The expected salary range for this position is between $42,661.58 and $75,065.24. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, training, geographic location, licensure, certifications, market factors, departmental budgets, and responsibility.

Schedule

Hybrid schedule with four in-office days per week (Monday–Thursday).
