As we rapidly become the world’s largest consumer of corporate services in many categories, the Global Corporate Procurement team is seeking a Contracts Manager to manage negotiations and documentation of a variety of third-party contractual relationships in spend categories including Professional Services, Benefits, HR Services, Travel, Tax, Legal, Marketing, Technology, and Construction.

Contract Managers play an important role at Amazon, responsible for managing the full end-to-end contract strategy, formulating commercial deal terms, and representing the business while interfacing with the Legal team through to the conclusion of the contracting process. The ability to orchestrate multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills will be critical in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Operate with significant autonomy and discretion in communicating with Legal, the Business, and Global Category Managers.
  • Influence at all levels of leadership, both internally and externally, to deliver results.
  • Serve as the principal subject matter expert in all Amazon standard contracts and most external contracts.
  • Negotiate MSAs, MHSAs, MPAs, PSAs, Statements of Work, Work Orders, LOIs, MOUs, and Term Sheets used by the Global Corporate Procurement organization, including legal practice standards and fallback guidelines set by the Legal Department.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for the organization in the application of the Amazon Spending and Transaction Policy and Amazon’s contract approval processes.
  • Proactively monitor major contracts for renewals, SLAs, KPI attainment, and other time-based or performance-based triggers that could impact the business.
  • Develop contract practice standards, operating procedures, and systems to enable the broader team of Global Category Managers to scale and work more efficiently.
  • Orchestrate the end-to-end process from kickoff to full execution and communicate results through weekly metrics reporting.
  • Gain executive stakeholder input on complex projects, framing issues simply and concisely to obtain buy-in for key decisions and initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of relevant strategic sourcing experience, including vendor negotiations, global contract management, process improvement, operational, and financial analysis.
  • 7+ years of contracts management experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience negotiating complex agreements with a firm understanding of legal terminology and reasoning.
  • Experience managing and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.

Pay

Base salary range: $136,900 – $185,200 USD annually (locations: Arlington, VA; Seattle, WA).
